How we research, write, review, and fix our guides, so you can trust what you read here.

Last updated: August 2026

We research from official sources

Our facts come from primary, official sources, Medicare, Social Security, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and other state agencies, county governments, and each provider's own website. We cite those sources on every guide so you can check them yourself.

We review for accuracy and plain language

Guides are drafted with the help of AI and then reviewed by James Mills for accuracy, clarity, and plain language. You'll see this noted as "Reviewed by AI and James Mills." We aim to write so a busy family member, or a 15-year-old, can understand it on the first read, and we define terms and acronyms the first time we use them.

We don't guess

If we can't confirm a fact, a price, or whether a provider still operates, we don't make it up. We either leave it out or mark it clearly and tell you to confirm with the official source. Prices and rules are given as dated ranges from cited sources, never invented numbers.

We're honest about who we are

We are an independent guide, not a government agency, and not affiliated with Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, or any program or company we mention. Provider listings are for your convenience and are not endorsements. See how we compare.

We correct mistakes

Rules and prices change, and errors happen. When we learn of a mistake, we fix it and update the "last reviewed" date on the page. If you spot something wrong, please tell us.

Please read: Everything on this site is general information, not medical, legal, or financial advice. Confirm details, prices, and eligibility with the official source before you act.
